How much flame-retardant masterbatch should be added to make the PE flame-retardant corrugated pipe reach the V0 level?

Generally, adding about 16% of the flame-retardant masterbatch can make the PE flame-retardant corrugated pipe reach the V0 level. However, the PE flame-retardant masterbatch is quite sensitive to the melt index of the raw materials. With different melt indices and different products, the addition amount will vary accordingly. Raw materials of different grades, whether they are high-pressure or low-pressure, may affect the flame retardancy to a certain extent. Therefore, it is necessary to adjust the addition amount according to the different raw materials, different products, and different thicknesses required by customers.

 In addition, although the flame-retardant masterbatch has good flame-retardant efficiency, there are still some key points to note during the use process: 

1. Fillers such as calcium carbonate and talcum powder should not be added. Otherwise, the flame-retardant effect will be greatly reduced or even there will be no flame-retardant effect at all; 

2. For the selection of other additives such as lubricants and antioxidants, a small-scale test should be carried out first. Only after confirming that they have no impact on the flame retardancy can the large-scale mixing and production be carried out.
