Is the raw material used for making flame - retardant plastic sheets PP or PE?

PE plastic sheet is a non-toxic, odorless, hygienic and healthy material without corrosiveness. The FDA and USDA allow it to be used in situations where it comes into contact with food and pharmaceuticals. Its abrasion resistance and impact resistance are both quite good among engineering plastics. In the beverage and food industry, it is often used to make work panels, conveying gears, etc. 

Without adding any color, plastic PE can be applied as a food-grade sheet in the food industry. In this regard, plastic PP is slightly inferior. 

However, in terms of hardness, PP sheets are slightly harder than PE sheets. 

In addition, it is much more difficult to make PE flame-retardant compared to PP, and the cost also increases considerably. 

Therefore, when both can be used in the working environment, it is recommended to use PP plastic sheets!
